Detailed description of A. C. Read Golf Course, Executive Course
A.C. Read Golf Course is a military, 45 hole golf facility located on Pensacola Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida. The facility has The Executive eighteen hole course and three nine holes courses. The nine hole courses are the Lakeview Course, The Bayview Course and The Bayou Course. These regulation length 9-hole courses can be combined to form different 18 hole combinations.
The A.C. Read Executive Course is a demanding course with some long par 3's. However, the tree-lined fairways afford generous landing areas. There are no water hazards, but there are several sand bunkers incorporated into the design.
The A.C. Read Executive Course is an ideal for course for beginners and the higher handicappers as well as experienced golfers who want to sharpen their short game skills.

2015 course conditions were perfect! Three full 9s, plus a par 60 course. Lakeview 9 is a great layout, Bayou is most challenging and Bayview most scenic. Huge live oaks line fairways, and big greens roll very well. Pin placement can range from easy to super tough. Course can be set up for weekend hackers and tourney play. Tough to concentrate when Blues are flying, and summer heat/humidity is rough. Women's tees don't offer much relief, and tips can be hard even for big hitters. Overall, best value and best course in Pensacola.
